Books and Guides Published by Vicarious Books:

All the Aires is a series of campervan guidebooks for overnight motorhome stopovers across Europe. All the Aires guides are written in English and the books detail inspected motorhome and campervan overnight stopovers. Service points that motorhome grey waste tanks can be emptied into and the campervan fresh water tank can be refilled from are  also listed. Each Aires guide has colour photographs of the stopover sites and service points. GPS co-ordinates - points of interest (POI's) for your Satellite Navigation machine (satnav) are provided. Stopover sites suitable for large motorhomes and RVs, but not fifth wheel trailers are identified. All the Aires France lists 2100 motorhome overnight stopover sites in France. The French aires guide was first published in 2007 and All the Aires France 3rd Edition was published by Vicarious Books in March 2011. All the Aires Spain and Portugal was published by Vicarious Books Ltd in January 2009 and reprinted with amendments in 2010. This aires guidebook is the most comprehensive list of municipally provided motorhome stopovers in Spain and Portugal and is due to be republished in the autumn of 2011. All the Aires Benelux and Scandinavia was published by Vicarious Books in March 2009. The guide features overnight motorhome stopovers and dump stations in Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Belgium, Holland and Luxemburg. All the Aires Mountains was published by Vicarious Books Ltd in September 2010, and lists aires and campsites throughout the mountainous regions of Europe. It is the most comprehensive list of motorhome skiing stopovers compiled in any guide.

Camping Morocco Vicarious Books published Camping Morocco in August 2009. This book is the most up-to-date campsite guide available for Morocco. Camping Morocco details 100 open all year Moroccan campsites which were inspected in 2009. The guidebook also has 50 beachside parking areas along the Moroccan Mediterranean and Atlantic coasts, many of which have beaches  suitable for surfing. Camping Morocco features full colour photographs of the camping sites. GPS co-ordinates - points of interest (POI's) for your Satellite Navigation machine (satnav) are provided for every Moroccan listing. Campsite suitability for large motorhomes, RVs and fifth wheel caravans are identified. As we do not have a section for African campsite guides, you will find Camping Morocco listed under Morocco in the web shop. This campsite guide for Morocco is suitable for people overlanding with tents, towing caravans, and driving motorhomes, campers, RV's and fifth wheel caravans.

Go Motorhoming was first written by Chris Doree and Meli George in 2006 and was republished by Vicarious Books with amendments in 2008. It is currently being rewritten and is due to be published in the autumn of 2011.
Go Motorhoming remains the most respected guide available about motorhoming and campervanning and details everything you need to know from which motorhome to buy to where to go on your motorhome holiday.

Sea View Camping was first written by Brian Leahy in 2006. This unique seaside campsite guide shows you all the sea view campsites around Great Britain, allowing campers to make the most of the English, Scottish, Welsh and Northern Irish coastlines. Many of the 300 campsites allow you to either camp overlooking the sea or camp right next to a sandy beach. Sea View Camping features full colour photographs of the campsites. GPS co-ordinates for your Satellite Navigation machine are included for every site. Sea View Camping also details the sites' suitability for large motorhomes and RVs. The current edition of Sea View Camping was fully updated and printed by Vicarious Books in 2010. Sea View Camping campsite guide for Britain is suitable for tents, caravans and motorhomes and RVs.

ACSI Camping has two products available for campers both  of which feature campsites in Britain and across Europe.  The ACSI Camping Card is an annually renewable membership which offers campers a discount at participating campsites so you always get a reduced price pitch ,barring ithe last two weeks of July and the first two weeks of July. The ACSI Campsite DVD lists 8600 campsites and is the best European campsite guide available as most campsite listings contain photographs of the campsites, GPS co-ordinates for your Satellite Navigation machine and details of the sites' suitability for large motorhomes and RVs. Vicarious Books highly recommend campers have both the ACSI Camping Card and the Campsite DVD. The ACSI Camping Card and ACSI DVD campsite guide are suitable for tents, caravans, motorhomes, 5th Wheels and RVs.

Espania Discovery is a motorhome farm and vineyard stopover scheme for Spain. Members of Espania Discovery get to stay 24 hours on participating Spanish farms or vineyards for free. The stops are located in the popular Spanish regions of Valencia and Alicante which are ideal for campers looking for a summer retreat or winter sun. Membership of Espania Discovery in renewable annually and runs April to April.

France Passion offers campervan and motorhomers the opportunity to stay at 1600 French vineyards, farms and restaurants across the whole of France for free. For an annual membership fee members of France Passion are allowed to stay 24 hours at participating French sites. This provides a unique insight into French life as the local French producers are keen to let campers sample the produce and often offer a tour of their establishments.

Guida Camper is an ideal guide and map for campers visiting Italy. The guide contains a complete 1:300 000 road map with the motorhome stopovers, called Area de Sosta in Italian, pin-pointed on the road map. At the back of the guide the Italian stopovers are detailed in symbols, for which there is an English index on the front flap. Contrary to aires in the est of Europe, it is understood that both motorhomes and Caravans can used these Italian stopovers.

Reisemobil Bord Atlas is a large A4 book detailing the motorhome stellplatze in Germany.  The guide is published by Reisemobile annually and is very popular with British motorhomers. Most of the motorhome stellplatze in Bord Atlas have full colour photographs and all have GPS co-ordinates. Reise Mobile Bord Atlas also details the sites' suitability for large motorhomes and RVs.

Vicarious Books sells the following campsite and travel guide books and maps:

AA Publishing Maps, Atlases and Travel Guides. The AA are famous for their road maps and Vicarious Books stock the AA EasyRead France Road Atlas, as well as road atlases for Germany, and Spain & Portugal. AA Publishing also produce campsite guides which include AA Caravan & Camping Europe which lists
2945 campsites in Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland and Turkey. The sites are updated each year via questionnaire, and those which were not updated are printed in italics and do not include prices. AA Caravan & Camping Britain is annually produced and lists over 900 campsites which are annually inspected by AA inspectors. AA Publishing also produce Best Drive guides for France and Italy to help enhance your road trip and traveller experience.

Alan Rogers Campsite Guides are published by Alan Rogers and updated annually. Alan Rogers have been publishing campsite guide books for 40 years. Every campsite in their guides has been inspected for quality and their campsite reviews are very informative. They publish their Best Campsites range for France,
 Spain & Portugal, Britain & Ireland,Italy (including Slovenia and Croatia), and The Netherlands (including Belgium and Luxembourg). Whilst these guides are not the most comprehensive campsite guides they feature quality campsites with plenty of facilities and remain a popular choice for people on long stay winter camping holidays or families camping with their children. The campsites in these guides are suitable for tents, caravans and motorhomes.

Camperstop Europe was one of the first motorhome stopovers guides to publish in English and it remains a multi-lingual guide, featuring four languages: English, French, German and Italian.  The guide is published annually by Dutch publisher Facile Media. Camperstop Europe features motorhome stopovers in Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland and the UK. As not all countries have motorhome stopovers, farms, restaurants and campsites are also included in the guide book. GPS co-ordinates for your Satellite Navigation machine are also included with most Camperstop listings.

Caravan Club Europe is a campsite guide produced in two volumes and published by The Caravan Club. Caravan Club Europe 1 features campsites in France, Andorra, Spain and Portugal. Caravan Club Europe 2 features campsites in Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, and Switzerland. Campsite listings are submitted by Caravan Club members and the guide is edited at The Caravan Club headquarters by Bernice Hoare. In addition there are pages of useful information for each country detailing road legislation and signs, laws and general information every camper should know. This campsite guide for Spain is suitable for tents, caravans and motorhomes.

Editions Lavorie produces a motorhome stopovers guide for France in French. Le Guide National des Aires de Services is published annually and is available from Easter. The stopovers in Le Guide National des Aires de Services guide book are only in France and there are 1396 municipal Aires, 288 private Aires (supermarkets, dealers, etc), 86 motorway Aires (never stop overnight on these), 477 campsites (a price is quoted for servicing 'good luck') and 152 of the listings have colour photos. All the motorhome stopovers are marked on a map of France and GPS co-ordinates for your Satellite Navigation machine are provided for all listings.

Guia Campings is a campsite guide book for Spain produced by the Spanish Tourist Board who claim: 'The Guide is intended to provide the most comprehensive information possible on all the campsites vetted and authorised by the various Official Tourist Authorities, so that visitors can easily decide which campsite best suits their needs.' The Guia Oficial de Campings de Espana is written in English, Spanish, French and German. There is a key on the front foldout cover and a bookmark that provides the meanings of the 76 symbols used. This campsite guide for Spain is suitable for tents, caravans and motorhomes.

Haynes Manuals are technical books which thoroughly explain the function and maintenance of just about all parts of the caravan or elements of a motorhome. Reading these technical guide books will give you a good understanding of how and why everything works. There are technical guides produced by Haynes for tents in the The Camping Manual written by former Camping and Caravan Club Communications Officer Peter Frost. Caravanners are catered for with The Cavaran Manual written by John Wickersham. Motorhomers have two manuals The Motorcaravan Manual and The Motorcaravanning Handbook both by John Wickersham. The Motorcaravan Manual and The Motorcaravanning Handbook do not include information on motorhome engine repairs. There is also a Haynes Manual guide for people planning to tow entitled The Trailer Manual.

IPC publish two campsite guide books for Great Britain annually. Britain's Best Caravan Parks features star-rated campsites across England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland. Each site is graded from 1-5 stars by the British Holiday and Home Parks Association and the National Caravan Council. Motor Caravan & Camping Parks lists motorhome and tent friendly campsites. This guide has been compiled by the publishers of Motor Caravan Magazine and it lists the readers top 101 United Kingdom campsites. These campsite guides for Britain are suitable for tents, caravans and motorhomes.

Michelin Maps and Road Atlases produce a range of respected road atlases and flat fold out maps for France, Spain, Benelux, Germany, Italy and Western Europe. These products are ideal as the Michelin Road Atlases provide detailed mapping, whilst the Michelin fold-out-flat sheet maps allow road trip route planning. The Michelin France Road Atlas shows height and weight restrictions ideal for motorhome and caravan users. The Michelin Spain & Portugal Road Atlas has 65 detailed town plans. The Benelux & Northern France Michelin Road Atlas has road mapping for Belgium, The Netherlands (Holland) and Luxemburg. Anyone travelling to central Europe on a road trip should take the Michelin Road Atlas to Central Europe, covering Germany, Austria, Benelux, Switzerland and the Czech Republic. The fold out sheet maps allow for detailed route planning in advance of your road trip and Michelin produce a sheet map for Great Britain and Ireland, France, Spain and Portugal, Italy, Benelux, Morocco, Germany, SwitzerlandTurkey, Greece, Scandinavia & Finland and Europe. These Road Atlases and Flat Maps are suitable for tents, caravans and motorhomes.

Michelin Green Guides are tourist guide books to individual countries in Europe. It is very important to know what to visit when you plan your road trip as it is very easy to drive past an important site without even knowing. Michelin have Green Guides to Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, The Netherlands, Poland, PortugalScandinavia & Finland, Scotland, SpainSwitzerland and to the Wine Regions of France. There are also regional guides to France and MustSee guides to Rome, London, and Barcelona. These tourist guides are suitable for all tourists, no matter how they camp.

Motor Presse produce two guides books annually for France in French. The Guide Officiel Camping et Caravaning France has 8626 classified campsites, which includes all the French Municipal campsites. There are also 931 aire natural sites, these are simple campsites found in rural locations and only opened for a few summer months. 778 farm camp sites complete the guide. The publisher claims "every camp site in France without exception is listed here in The Official Camping and Caravanning Guide, which is published by The MOTOR PRESSE FRANCE Group, in partnership with the Fédération Française de Camping Caravaning (FFCC), and updated every year. This campsite guide book is suitable for tents, caravans and motorhomes and is the only campsite guide book that features the small and municipal campsites of France. Le Guide Officiel Aires de Services Camping Car is also published by Motor Presse. Le Guide Officiel Aires de Services Camping Car comes with a foldout map and the guide book details the motorhome stopovers known as Aires in France. Le Guide Officiel Aires de Services Camping Car is only suitable for motorhome and camper vans.

Unique travel products are also sold by Vicarious Books. These include Headlight adaptors, sometimes known as beam benders, which are a legal requirement for any British vehicle travelling in Europe. Other legally required accessories like 80/90 speed stickers for vehicles towing  thing while driving in France, or GB stickers which are required for any vehicle from the UK travelling in Europe are also available.
